Africa Scholarship Program at University of Essex in UK 2020/2021

If you are a foreign student from an African country and are self-funding your postgraduate education, you could be qualified for the Africa Scholarship Program at University of Essex, paid as a deduction on your tuition fee. If you are from any of the following nations below, please read the academic prerequisite below to see if you could be qualified.

Eligibility for Africa Scholarship Program at University of Essex

You must meet all of the following conditions.

  • be categorized as a foreign student for fee purposes
  • be a citizen of an African country (defined as a member nation of the African Union) and ordinarily living in an African country (see the complete terms and conditions for the definition of “ordinary residence”)
  • be entirely self-funding your studies
  • be a graduate of any African country or any of the countries specified below
  • be putting in for a full-time Master’s program commencing in 2020-21 (excluding MBA)

You will also be given consideration for the Africa Scholarship Program at University of Essex if you are a national of an African country and you have a degree:

  • from a recognized UK university other than the University of Essex with a 2:1 or above;
  • from a recognized university with a 2:1 or above (or equivalent as defined by our Postgraduate Admissions selection criteria) from any of the following countries:
    • Bangladesh
    • Brazil
    • Canada
    • Chile
    • China
    • Colombia
    • Hong Kong
    • India
    • Indonesia
    • Japan
    • Jordan
    • Kazakhstan
    • Malaysia
    • Mexico
    • Nepal
    • Norway

These scholarship awards will be granted on the basis of academic excellence and all academic applications will automatically be given consideration;

The University will make use of official transcripts and certificates, presented as part of the original application, as proof of grades attained and no alternative supporting proof will be accepted;

Candidates who have firmly accepted an offer of admission by 18 September 2020, and gotten a place on a program at Essex, will be given consideration for these scholarship awards.
