African Scholarships at University of Cambridge in UK 2020
The University of Cambridge and the Cambridge Trust are generously providing funding to enable outstanding applicants from sub-Saharan African countries to study for a degree program at the University of Cambridge.
The University of Cambridge is among the oldest and most renowned universities in the world. The University of Cambridge is committed to engagement with Africa at all levels and across all disciplines, in accordance with our mission ‘to contribute to society through the pursuit of education, knowledge, and research at the utmost global levels of excellence’.
There have been five scholarship awards obtainable every year since 2014. The original 5-year scheme has been prolonged through to 2021 entry; we hope that it will be prolonged further. Preference will be afforded to sub-Saharan African candidates who are linked to African research institutions/universities and working on projects that are of importance to their nations and of significance to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

How to Apply for African Scholarships at University of Cambridge
To be given consideration for funding, fill out the standard University Graduate Students’ Application Form, and fill the ‘funding’ section. You can then be given consideration for all scholarship awards you are qualified to apply for. The closing date for Cambridge-Trust scholarship awards is typically the first week in December.
