The university received its royal charter in 1900 as a successor to Queen’s College, Birmingham (established in 1825 as the Birmingham School of Medicine and Surgery), and Mason Science College (founded in 1875 by Sir Josiah Mason), making it the first English civic or ‘red brick’ university to receive its own royal charter.
The University of Birmingham is a founding member of both the Russell Group of British research universities and the international network of research universities, Universitas 21. The successful candidates of Bellerbys Outstanding Achievement Scholarship will receive £2,500 partial fund from University of Birmingham.
Eligibility for Bellerbys Outstanding Achievement Scholarships
- To be eligible for Bellerbys Outstanding Achievement Scholarships, you must have an excellent academic background.
- Bellerbys Outstanding Achievement Scholarships will be given out on the basis of exceptional academic achievement.
- To be qualified for these scholarship, each candidate must have achieved an offer of an undergraduate program and also select the University as their first choice.
- Each applicant must be entering the first year of the undergraduate program offered by the University and must begin their study in September 2022 to be qualified for these scholarship.
- The academic requirements of the offer received must also be met.
- Each candidate should be classified as ‘international’ for fee purposes and should pay the remaining fee that is not covered by the scholarship to be eligible for Bellerbys Outstanding Achievement Scholarships.
- To be qualified for the scholarship, you must be able to afford the living costs and visa/travel expenses.
- The Bellerbys scholarship is only qualified for study at the UK campus.
