The London Business School is welcoming applications for the BK Birla MBA Scholarship Programme for the 2021/2022 academic year.
London Business School (LBS) former student, Kumar Mangalam Birla, has donated a £15 million endowed scholarship award programme to assist the education of 10 full-time MBA applicants each year indefinitely. This donation marks the biggest ever endowed scholarship award gift to a European Business School, with the first cycle commencing in Autumn 2019.

Charity of this nature plays a crucial role in driving the evolution of London Business School, allowing them to attract brilliant minds and supports their purpose to have a big impact on the manner the world does business, and the manner business affects the world.
Applicants qualified for the BK Birla MBA Scholarship will represent the most assorted minds with five of the scholarship award beneficiaries from India and five from the rest of the world. BK Birla Scholars will be among the most remarkable talents in the School’s full-time MBA program, and will personify academic distinction and high leadership potential. The top 5% of the class will be qualified for the scholarship award and it will represent the mark of highest distinction among candidates.
The BK Birla MBA Scholarship award venerates the legacy of Mr Birla’s late grandfather, renowned industrialist, humanitarian and pioneer Basant Kumar (BK) Birla. A humble and quixotic leader, BK Birla (1921-2019) saw access to higher education as a basic right for all. Mr Birla stated the BK Birla MBA Scholarship award reflected his grandfather’s kindness of spirit and devotion to supporting the progressive growth of developing business leaders.
Mr. B.K. Birla took on a leadership role in his family business at a very early age, making use of his strategic insight and foresight to grow a huge global empire. A lot of great institutions have been impacted by his wisdom and mature guidance, for example, the BK Birla Centre of Education in Pune, the Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani, and the Birla Institute of Management Technology in Delhi. Eligibility for BK Birla MBA Scholarship
Candidates must fulfil the following admissions conditions:
- An undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification
- At least two years’ work experience (candidates without former work experience can be given consideration for admission to the MBA Program subject to their ability to display exceptional academic credentials with brilliant performance, but should give consideration to the Masters in Management programme.)
- The aptitude to work in multicultural teams and a global outlook
Note: If you are extended an offer of admission at London Business School and you are not from the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland, you will have to apply for a Tier 4 student visa within 3 months prior to the commencement of the programme.
