Centre for Human Rights LLM Scholarships at University of Pretoria in South Africa 2021

The Centre for Human Rights LLM Scholarships is available to candidates willing to undergo a Master’s degree in Law at the University of Pretoria. The Trade and Investment Law in Africa (TILA) degree is a unique program to which 25 to 30 persons from African nations with a degree permitting access to the legal occupation (e.g. LLB or license en Droit) and if possible experience in the area of trade and investment law are granted admission.

The TILA program is the first of its kind to be offered in Africa and it establishes a higher education and training program based in and focused on, Africa with complete exposure to the global world of trade and investment. The program was created under the backings of the Centre for Human Rights and is offered by the University of Pretoria and the University of the Western Cape in association with Makerere University in Uganda, American University Washington College of Law in the United States and Erasmus University and the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands.

• Candidates should possess exceptional academic credentials and should display an interest in International Trade and Investment Law.
• Applicants must be from African countries;
• Candidates should possess a degree permitting access to the legal occupation;

• The Approximate cost for tuition is R100,000 / $6,650 USD. Limited scholarships are available.
• Self-funded students are encouraged to apply for this program.

How to Apply for Centre for Human Rights LLM Scholarships at University of Pretoria

The TILA LLM program will be taking place at the University of Pretoria in 2021.

Prospective candidates have to submit an application at the University of Pretoria for the 2021 intake and applications for the 2022 cohort at the University of Western Cape will open in 2021.
