The UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School is the graduate business school of University College Dublin based in Blackrock, Dublin, Ireland, on the site of the former teacher training Carysfort College. The school’s undergraduate business education is provided by the Quinn School of Business on the main Belfield campus of UCD.
The business school’s history can be traced to the UCD Faculty of Commerce which was established in 1908, and became the first institution in Europe to offer a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, in 1964.
In 2018, the Financial Times rated the school as 1st in Ireland and 23rd overall in their ranking of the Top 100 Business Schools in Europe. The UCD’s Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School is rated 28th in the Financial Times’ ranking of leading European Business Schools in 2021.
In addition, the business school’s Masters in International Management is rated 3rd in the world. The UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School is a member institution of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB), the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS), the quality improvement system conducted by the European Foundation for Management Development, and the Association of MBAs.
The UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School is also a member of the Global Alliance in Management Education, an alliance of 26 academic institutions and over 50 leading multinational corporations.
In 2018, the Financial Times rated the school as the best business school in Ireland and 23rd in the top 100 business schools in Europe. The Economist Intelligence Unit rated the full-time MBA program 63rd in the world in 2014.
Furthermore, the Financial Times rated the school 89th in the world’s top 100 full-time MBA programs (2018), while it rated the Smurfit School’s executive MBA program 94th in the world (2014), and 41st in Europe (2015).
The UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School is also the only Irish institute that has made it into the top 100 in the Financial Times rankings.
Worth of the China Merit Based Scholarships
All successful candidates of the China MSc Merit Based Scholarships will receive an amount of €3,000 of Tuition Fees.
Eligibility for the China Merit Based Scholarships
- The China MSc Merit Based Scholarships are open to citizens of China.
- To be qualified for the China Merit Based Scholarships, all the program-specific requirements must be met.
- Candidates for the following programs are qualified for the Scholarship: MSc Digital Innovation Full-Time, MSc Accounting, and Financial Management Full-Time, MSc Retail Leadership, MSc Food Business Strategy Full-Time, MSc International Business Full-Time, and MSc Renewable Energy and Environmental Finance Full-Time.

Note that the process for the scholarship is very straightforward. Scholars do not need to apply separately to be regarded for these specific program-based MSc China Scholarships.
