Faculty of Culture and Society Awards at AUT in New Zealand 2021

AUT is granting the Faculty of Culture and Society Awards to exceptional research students with the intention of encouraging and stimulating doctoral studies in areas of the University’s research capability.

The Auckland University of Technology will offer funding for both local and foreign candidates that will provide full Ph.D. fees for the academic session 2020/2021. The application is open to all eligible applicants. Candidates may be New Zealand nationals or permanent residents, or foreign students. Applications open one month prior to the closing date. Grades for the previous degree have to be available at the time of application. Candidates awaiting grades have to apply in the next round.

Eligibility for Faculty of Culture and Society Awards at AUT

  • Due to Covid-19, the 1 November 2020 round is limited to NZ Citizens, NZ Permanent Residents, and foreign students onshore (living in New Zealand).
  • Candidates should typically have the equivalent of first-class honors.
  • Candidates have to offer proof of English language ability: TOEFL, IELTS, or other acceptable evidence. Please read through the English Language Requirements section for extra details.
  • Candidates have to fulfill the normal admission conditions for the doctoral program and have obtained an Offer of Place (OOP) for the doctoral degree program at AUT.

How to Apply for Faculty of Culture and Society Awards at AUT

So as to apply for the award, candidates have to secure admission to the Doctoral degree program at the Auckland University of Technology. After that, applications should be submitted through the online AUT application portal and it is open one month before any of the three deadlines.

Preference will be afforded to new candidates to the doctoral degree program at AUT, including those presently in provisional standing.
