About Full Sail University and Scholarship
A private, for-profit institution called Full Sail University is operated by Full Sail, LLC in Winter Park, Florida. Full Sail Productions and Full Sail Center for the Recording Arts used to be recording studios in Ohio. The institution relocated to Florida in 1980, and in 2007 it started providing online degrees.
The Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges has granted Full Sail accreditation to grant associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees in business, computer animation, design, and audio. About 8,921 students were enrolled at the Winter Park Campus as of November 2018, and 10,250 others were taking classes online. Jon Phelps established Full Sail University in Dayton, Ohio, in 1979. Its recording arts-focused curriculum included classes in audio engineering. In 1980, it moved to Orlando, Florida, and expanded its core recording arts curriculum. After moving to its current home in Winter Park, Florida, in 1989, Full Sail received accreditation to award specialized associate degrees the following year.
Between 1989 and 1991, enrollment doubled as interest in cinema and media studies grew. The university’s expansion paused in 1992 due to financial issues. It started up by providing associate degrees in computer animation, digital media, game design and development, show production, and touring between 1995 and 1999; they eventually became complete bachelor’s degree programs in those fields.
The 2023 Full Sail University STEM Scholarship is now accepting applications from qualified foreign students. Its goal is to support and nurture future global professionals pursuing professions in science, technology, engineering, and math. Eligible participants in the STEM Scholarship program may earn up to $5,000 toward the cost of their Full Sail University STEM campus degree program.

Eligibility for Full Sail University STEM Scholarship
Interested candidates must fulfill the following requirements to be eligible for the Full Sail University STEM Scholarship:
- According to Full Sail University, applicants must be non-US citizens or non-permanent residents.
- Before the start of the semester, complete the STEM Scholarship application and an original 250-word essay titled “How My Full Sail Education Will Prepare Me for a STEM Career.”
- Candidates must exhibit exceptional academic prowess.
- Candidates must be prepared to adhere to the guidelines controlling university students’ behavior.
- Candidates must be accepted to the preferred Full Sail University campus degree program and fulfill the entry criteria.
- Candidates must have applied for one of the immersive STEM campus degree programs in computer science, cybersecurity, game design, game development, information technology, mobile development, or simulation & visualization.
Application Process for Full Sail University STEM Scholarship
- The applicant must have applied to and been accepted into a university program that is eligible before being considered for the scholarship.
- The Full Sail Scholarship Committee must receive the STEM Scholarship application and essay well in advance of the requested start date.
