This is accomplished by offering financial aid to Maori, Pasifika, or female high school graduates studying Electrical and Electronic Engineering in the Bachelor of Engineering with Honours program to specialize in Renewable Energy Systems Engineering in their third year.

Benefits:
If they decide to specialize in Renewable Energy Systems Engineering in their third year, the recipient will receive a stipend of $6,000 a year for the first three years of their studies. After their second year of study, the awardee will also receive a paid summer placement at Infratec, which will be coordinated by Infratec.
Eligibility Criteria for Infratec Scholarship for Maori, Pasifika, and Women in Renewable Energy Systems Engineering
Candidates are advised to meet the following requirements to be eligible for the Infratec Scholarship for Maori, Pasifika, and Women in Renewable Energy Systems Engineering at Victoria University of Wellington:
- The applicant must plan to enroll full-time in the first year of a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours program at Victoria University of Wellington’s Faculty of Engineering with a major in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
- Candidates must intend to take a Renewable Energy Systems Engineering specialization in their third year of study.
- A member of an equity group (M? ori/Pasifika/Women) must apply.
- Candidates must be citizens or permanent residents of New Zealand.
Selection Criteria
The selection of candidates will be based on their academic qualifications, drive, potential for the future, and dedication to studying renewable energy and pursuing careers in renewable energy engineering. The Sustainable Energy Systems Group from the School of Engineering and Computer Science will narrow down the candidates before selecting the selected candidate. The donor will then get the shortlist for their feedback, and the Sustainable Energy Systems Group will make the ultimate decision.

Application Procedure for Infratec Scholarship for Maori, Pasifika, and Women in Renewable Energy Systems Engineering
Log in or register for the scholarship here if you are interested and qualify. By 4.30 p.m. on the closing date, a full online application must be submitted. Applications submitted after the deadline or with missing information won’t be considered. To be considered, all necessary supporting materials (including references) must be submitted by 4.30 p.m. on the application deadline day.
