International Student Excellence Scholarship at University of Auckland in New Zealand 2021
The International Student Excellence Scholarship award at the University of Auckland is obtainable to fresh foreign undergraduate and postgraduate candidates who are putting in to study taught PGDip or Masters of 120 points or higher, or who are looking to obtain undergraduate degrees (with foreign secondary or post-secondary qualifications). Studies can be in any subject.
The primary purpose of the scholarship award is to attract new foreign students of high quality to enroll in an undergraduate or postgraduate taught program of 1 year or more at the University of Auckland.

Up to 50 Scholarship awards will be granted bi-annually (contingent on whether the applicant is starting studies in Semester 1 or Semester 2), with each scholarship award valued at up to $10,000, for graduate and undergraduate study. The Scholarship award will be paid as a mandatory fee credit towards the first year of enrolment at the University of Auckland.
Eligibility for International Student Excellence Scholarship at University of Auckland
Candidates have to be new international students who have obtained an unconditional offer of admission, or English Language Academy (ELA) students who have obtained a conditional offer of admission, to undergo a Postgraduate Diploma or Masters (taught) of 120 points or more, or an undergraduate degree (applying with foreign secondary or post-secondary qualifications) at the University of Auckland. Candidates should typically have a grade point equivalent (GPE) of a minimum of 6.00.
The criteria of selection will be academic merit, the quality of the application letter, and commendation by the candidate’s referee. The country of origin of the applicant may also be considered by the selection committee.
Students who have prior to now started study at the University of Auckland are not qualified, as are students enrolling in a Research Master’s program. Undergraduate scholars from the University of Auckland Foundation Providers (UP Education and Taylors College) and New Zealand secondary-school leavers are not qualified to apply also.

Scholarship award applications will typically become available around 6 weeks before the deadline. The application closing date for studies starting in February 2021 is 21 November 2020, whilst that for studies starting in July 2021, is 20 April 2021.
