The UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School is the graduate business school of University College Dublin and is based in Blackrock, Dublin, Ireland, Europe on the site of the former teacher-training Carysfort College.
However, undergraduate business education is provided by the Quinn School of Business on the main Belfield campus of UCD. The school originates from the UCD Faculty of Commerce, established in 1908, which became the first institution in Europe to offer a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, in 1964.
In 2018, the Financial Times rated the school as 1st in Ireland and 23rd overall in their rating of the Top 100 Business Schools in Europe. UCD’s Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School is rated 21st in the Financial Times’ ranking of leading European Business Schools in 2019.
The business school’s Masters in International Management is rated 8th in the world. UCD’s Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School is a member institution of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB), the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS), the quality enhancement system administered by the European Foundation for Management Development, and the Association of MBAs.
UCD’s Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School is also a member of the Global Alliance in Management Education, an alliance of 26 academic institutions and over 50 leading multinational corporations. In 2018, the Financial Times rated the school as the best business school in Ireland and 23rd in the top 100 business schools in Europe.
In addition, the Economist Intelligence Unit rated the full-time MBA program 63rd in the world in 2014. The Financial Times rated the school 89th in the world’s top 100 full-time MBA programs (2018), while it rated the Smurfit School’s executive MBA program 94th in the world (2014) and 41st in Europe (2015). However, the school is the only Irish institute that has made into the top 100 in the Financial Times rankings.

All successful candidates of Marketing and Retail Innovation Scholarships will receive an award of €5,000.
Eligibility for Marketing and Retail Innovation Scholarships
- Candidates from all nationalities are qualified for Marketing and Retail Innovation Scholarships.
- You must hold an undergraduate degree result of Irish first-class honors (Hons 1.1) or an Irish second class honors, grade one (Hons 2.1) or international equivalent to be qualified for the scholarship.
- Each candidate must possess a strong curriculum vitae/resume to be qualified for Marketing and Retail Innovation Scholarships.
- You must submit two essays- 300 words each to be qualified for the scholarship.
- Candidates must meet the minimum English Language Requirement which is an overall IELTS of minimum 7.0, TOEFL 100 / 120 to be qualified for Marketing and Retail Innovation Scholarships.
- To be eligible for the scholarship, all the progression requirements and program-specific criteria must be met by the students.
