In 2007, Professor Brian Fynes was appointed Ireland’s first Full Professor of Supply Chain Management and he held many leadership positions at UCD College of Business and the wider university during his prolific career.
Professor Brian was Head of the Management Subject Area for several years and, more recently, Associate Dean (International), roles that also saw him making very important contributions to the internationalization of the UCD College of Business, attracting students, faculty, international partners and networks.

The UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School is the graduate business school of University College Dublin (UCD) and is situated in Blackrock, Dublin, Ireland, on the site of the former teacher-training Carysfort College. - To be qualified for Professor Brian Fynes Memorial Scholarship, you must have an undergraduate degree result of a first-class honor (Hons 1.1) or international equivalent.
- Each candidate must have a strong curriculum vitae/resume to be eligible.
- Applicants must have excellently written essay question answers in the course application.
- Note if required by an applicant, an overall IELTS of a minimum of 7.0, TOEFL 100 / 120, or equivalent scores in a test we recognize for the scholarship’s English Language Requirements.
- Shortlisted candidates will also be asked to submit a 3-minute video on a related topic to be qualified.
