The Deutschlandstipendium at German Universities 2020

High-achieving students from all over the world who wish to study Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs at public and state-recognized universities in Germany may apply for the Deutschlandstipendium, which is the biggest German public-private partnership scholarship award program. A lot of universities and private patrons also assist Deutschlandstipendium holders via simultaneous mentoring programs, networking events, and internships.

Scholarship value/inclusions:

Funding is typically granted for a minimum of 2 semesters but may be offered for a maximum time which provides the standard length of study. At intervals of two semesters, the university evaluates whether the scholarship award beneficiary still satisfies the award conditions and whether private funding will continue to be offered. Each recipient will obtain €300 per month (€150 are provided by private sponsors and €150 by the Federal Government). The Deutschlandstipendium is granted regardless of personal or parent income.

Eligibility for Deutschlandstipendium at German Universities

Along with exceptional academic results, the conditions for obtaining a scholarship award include civic engagement and special personal accomplishments, like a student overcoming challenges or difficulties in his or her social or family background. Hence, the applicant’s social and family background is also taken into consideration. Both current students and new students are eligible for the scholarship award.

First- and higher-semester candidates of all citizenship can apply straight to their university. The universities oversee the selection process, choose the successful applicants, and approach prospective sponsors with financial supports from the Federal Government.
