The Kevin Boushel Memorial Scholarship is offered for a Master’s degree in the field of Courses offered at the University. The scholarship is provided by UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School and the value of the scholarship is Partial Funding, 50% of the tuition fees. This scholarship is open to all nationals.
The Kevin Boushel Memorial Scholarship aims to support and urge scholars with outstanding academic merit and acquire an outgoing personality, to enroll to study at the University. The UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School is the graduate business school of University College Dublin (UCD) and is based in Blackrock, Dublin, Ireland, on the site of the former teacher-training Carysfort College.
Its undergraduate business education is offered by the Quinn School of Business on the main Belfield campus of UCD. The UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School develop from the UCD Faculty of Commerce, created in 1908, which became the first institution in Europe to offer a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, in 1964.
In 2018, the Financial Times ranked the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School as 1st in Ireland and 23rd overall in their ranking of the Top 100 Business Schools in Europe. The school is rated 28th in the Financial Times’ rating of leading European Business Schools in 2021.
In addition, the business school’s Masters in International Management is rated 3rd in the world. Moreover, in 2018, the Financial Times rated the school as the best business school in Ireland, and 23rd in the top 100 business schools in Europe.
The school’s Economist Intelligence Unit rated the full-time MBA program 63rd in the world in 2014. The Financial Times ranked the school 89th in the world’s top 100 full-time MBA programs in 2018, while it rated the Smurfit School’s executive MBA program 94th in the world in 2014 and 41st in Europe in 2015.
Furthermore, the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School is the only Irish institute that has made it into the top 100 in the Financial Times rankings.
Worth of The Kevin Boushel Memorial Scholarship
All successful candidates of The Kevin Boushel Memorial Scholarship will receive up to 50% of the tuition fees.
Eligibility for The Kevin Boushel Memorial Scholarship
- Candidates from all nationalities are qualified for The Kevin Boushel Memorial Scholarship.
- To be eligible for the scholarship, the program-specific requirements must be met.
- You must be a graduate of UCD Lochlann Quinn School of Business with a GPA of 3.68 (Hons 1.1) or above to be qualified for The Kevin Boushel Memorial Scholarship.
- Note that candidates must have perfectly written essay question answers in the course application. There are two at 300 words each as part of the online application to the MSc program.

Hence, all successful candidates who apply to an MSc program with the school by 1st August 2022 and who hold a Full or Conditional Offer, and who have accepted that offer for full-time by 15th August 2022 are automatically considered. Then after that, the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School will then select a small shortlist and have a winner chosen by the end of August 2022.
