The Ulster University Leveraging Artificial Intelligence Scholarship is currently available for interested Ph.D. applicants. Continue reading this post as we show you the worth of the Ulster University Leveraging Artificial Intelligence Scholarship, its eligibility, and how you can apply.

Knowing human activities in an automatic and non-intrusive manner is an essential and emerging area of research. With the fast development of the Internet of Things (IoT), joined with advances in machine/deep learning, technology-based solutions to automatically detect and model human activities are now becoming possible.

However, there has been a recent move toward edge computing as a way of minimizing communication latency and network communication whilst preserving privacy. Several solutions have also been developed to support the modeling of human activities.

In particular, the deep learning processes have shown high performance, however, usually require large amounts of computation for training and inference, making them not suitable for deployment on resource-constrained edge devices. Also, devices in a resource-constrained environment become even more challenging when they are battery powered, such as the case with adequate applications, making them computationally intensive and power demand.

Ulster University is a multi-campus public university based in Northern Ireland. It is frequently referred to informally and unofficially as Ulster, or by the abbreviation UU. The university is the largest in Northern Ireland and the second-largest university on the island of Ireland, after the federal National University of Ireland.

Founded in 1968 as the New University of Ulster, it joined with Ulster Polytechnic in 1984, integrating its four Northern Irish campuses under the University of Ulster banner. Ulster University incorporated its four campuses in 1984; based in Belfast, Coleraine, Derry (Magee College), and Jordanstown.

Ulster University has branch campuses in both London and Birmingham and an extensive distance learning provision. The university rebranded as Ulster University in October 2014 and this included a corrected visual identity, though its legal name remained unchanged.

The university has one of the highest further study and employment rates in the UK, with more than 92% of graduates being in work or further study six months after graduation. Ulster University is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, the European University Association, Universities Ireland, and Universities UK.

The Government of Northern Ireland appointed a committee in 1963 to review university facilities and higher technical education in Northern Ireland, modeled committee on higher education in Great Britain chaired by Lionel Robbins which had reported that year.

In addition, Ulster University formerly had a laboratory named The University of Ulster Freshwater Laboratory at Traad Point on the shore of Lough Neagh in Ballymaguigan. The Freshwater Laboratory, however not a campus was a site of the university and comprised of on-campus accommodation, classrooms, and testing labs.
