Western Sydney University is an Australian multi-campus university in the Greater Western region of Sydney, Australia. The university in its present form was established in 1989 as a federated network university with an amalgamation between the Nepean College of Advanced Education and the Hawkesbury Agricultural College.

The Macarthur Institute of Higher Education was integrated in the university in 1989. The University of Western Sydney was reorganized as a single multi-campus university in 2001 rather than as a federation.

In 2015, Western Sydney University experience a rebranding which resulted in a change in name from the University of Western Sydney to Western Sydney University. The Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment was officially launched in 2012, funded by a $40 million grant from the Australian Government Education Investment Fund. It accommodates some of the largest and most complex facilities in the world for researching the effects of climate change.

  • Each candidate of Western Sydney University Scholarships will receive $6,000 per year contribution to tuition fees (up to a maximum two years).
  • You will also receive $3,000 per year contribution to tuition fees (up to a maximum two years).
  • The scholarship will be applied to tuition fees for full-time enrolment in a postgraduate programs, not more than two years. Note that the scholarship is a partial tuition fee waiver and it does not cover costs associated with accommodation, living expenses, transport, overseas student health cover or other costs associated with study.

Eligibility for Western Sydney University Scholarships

  • To be qualified for the scholarship, each candidate must be an international student and not an Australian Citizen, New Zealand citizen or permanent resident of Australia. Note that if your status changes to one of these during the study period the scholarship will end.
  • You must satisfy all other admission requirements and accept the university’s admission offer to be eligible for the scholarship.
  • Each candidate must satisfy the academic qualification requirements for either of the multi-year scholarships in his/her most recent completed tertiary qualification regarded by Western Sydney University.
