Bournemouth University Sports Scholarships in the UK for 2022/2023

The Bournemouth University Sports Scholarships is available to high-level sporting athletes coming to study at either undergraduate or postgraduate level at BU. 

The scholarship is available to provide you with the funding you need to grow your sporting abilities and take them to the next level. Applicants can apply for up to £5,000 of funding and put this money towards coaching, equipment, competition entry fees, travel expenses, or/or support services.

Applicants must display excellence in their chosen sport, be part of a Regional, National, and/or International squad and compete at that level. However, athletes receiving a scholarship will ideally represent Bournemouth University in the BUCS program (League and Individual), as well as themselves and/or their club at regional, national, or international levels.

Individual athletes will also need to be competitive with top performers within the BUCS program. Moreover, if you are awarded a scholarship, you will need to meet with the Sports Performance Manager to assess how the funds will help you throughout the year, commit to attending 75% of training sessions, and represent the university in sporting competitions were possible to raise the profile of SportBU’s activities and to be featured in marketing materials.

As part of your application for a Bournemouth University Sports Scholarships, you will have to attend our trial process and be evaluated by our coach.

You must make sure your application is supported by a reference from a High-Performance Coach or National Governing Body coach/ If you are applying for a sport that sits outside our performance BUCS program, you will need to confirm that two references are sent with your application.
