About Emory University and Scholarship
In Atlanta, Georgia, there is a private research institution called Emory University. The Methodist Episcopal Church established Emory College in 1836 and gave it its name in honor of the Methodist bishop John Emory.
There are nine academic departments at Emory University. With seven main facilities, including Emory University Hospital and Emory University Hospital Midtown, Emory Healthcare is the state of Georgia’s biggest healthcare organization. In addition to the Winship Cancer Institute and several disease and vaccine research labs, the university is home to the Yerkes National Primate Research Center. National Ebola Training and Education Center of the U.S. Emory University oversees the Health Department in the main. One of four organizations taking part in the NIAID’s Tuberculosis Research Units Program is the university. The institution houses the international offices of the International Association of National Public Health Institutes.
Emory University has the fifteenth-largest endowment among colleges and universities in the United States. The university is acclaimed for its impressive performance in science and is included as one of the “R1: Doctoral Universities – Very High Research Activity” in the CWTS Leiden Ranking. The National Science Foundation ranked the university 36th out of all American academic institutions in terms of research and development (R&D) investment. The Association of American Universities, a collection of 65 top research universities in North America, selected Emory University to join in 1995.
The institution offers some to all merit-based scholarships as a part of the Emory University Scholar Programs. Beyond merit-based scholarships, there are scholar programs. They provide students with the resources and inspiration they need to realize their potential and make a difference inside the school, in Atlanta, and across the world.

Eligibility Criteria for Emory University Scholar Programs
Applicants are advised to meet the following requirements to be qualified for the Emory University Scholar Programs:
- Any student may be considered for the scholar programs, regardless of citizenship.
- Students must apply for one of Emory University’s three admission periods.
The Office of Admission oversees the selection of merit-based scholar programs in conjunction with top instructors. Between 8,000 and 10,000 students apply to be Scholars every year. From among those, 175-200 students were selected as Scholar Finalists. The Scholars Finalists Visit is held on campus in the spring, and finalists are required to attend. Finalists are invited to campus at no additional cost to the pupil.
The multi-day trip includes activities and interviews designed to acquaint applicants with Emory University and the distinctive opportunities available to them there. Even though they are not selected as program finalists, those who do not make it through the application process are extensively evaluated for admission, and they are automatically eligible for additional small merit-based incentives. Selection of financial aid is done separately from selection of scholars. When a student qualifies for both financial aid and scholarships, merit scholarships are awarded first. If there is an unmet need after the merit scholarship award, students who apply for financial help may also qualify for need-based grants and loans.
