Eligibility Criteria for Gustave O. ARLT Awards in Humanities

Applicants are advised to meet the following requirements to be qualified for the Gustave O. ARLT Awards in Humanities at the University of British Columbia:

  • All nations are welcome to apply.
  • Acceptable Courses or Subjects: Candidates studying Humanities studies will get the funding.
  • Candidates must fulfill the following requirements to be considered:
  1. The grantee must teach at a university in the US or Canada and have earned their Ph.D. within seven years of receiving the prize.
  2. The recipient’s degree must have been earned at an institution in the US or Canada.
  3. The book under consideration has to be released no more than seven years before the honor. The book must have been written in English or translated into English.
  4. The book must make a significant addition to the literature in the area.
  • Working on a project that enhances scientifically informed judgments or decision-making concerning natural resources for the benefit of the public.
  • English language proficiency is required for applicants, both verbally and in writing.

  • Proof of Master’s or post-graduate (Doctor of Philosophy) program enrolment
  • Completed LMS Form
  • Three letters of recommendation from individuals who are acquainted with the applicant’s graduate work, at least one of which must come from the primary advisor
