About Flinders University and Scholarship

Flinders University, situated in Adelaide, South Australia, has played a significant role in the higher education landscape since its founding in 1966. The institution, which bears the name of the famous British explorer Matthew Flinders, has grown to become influential at 11 locations throughout South Australia and the Northern Territory.

Reputed for its superior fish quality and cutting-edge farming techniques, Clean Seas is a global leader in the comprehensive breeding, production, and distribution of Yellowtail Kingfish. Clean Seas is especially well-known for being the biggest producer of Yellowtail Kingfish raised in aquaculture outside of Japan. They are dedicated to providing reliable, premium fish to international markets all year round.

A two-year scholarship for a student starting their third year of undergraduate studies is provided by the Playford Trust and Clean Seas cooperation, which presents a special opportunity. This scholarship is intended for those who want to attend one of the three public institutions in South Australia and study aquaculture for a fourth year.

Selected candidates will receive paid work internships, which will provide them a chance to participate more actively in the sector and gain useful skills. Scholars will collaborate directly with top management on technological initiatives that tackle real-world issues, utilizing their academic knowledge in an industry context. After each placement, they will present their findings to senior site management, sharing insights into the methodology, project success, knowledge gained, and the overall industry experience.

For prospective applicants, initiating the application process early is recommended. The Playford Trust encourages candidates to commence their applications promptly, allowing the Trust to provide Clean Seas with names early in the process. This proactive approach ensures a smoother application and selection process for interested students.
