About Boise State University and Scholarship
In Boise, Idaho, there is a public research institution called Boise State University(BSU). The Episcopal Church founded the institution in 1932, and it became an independent junior college in 1934. Since 1965, it has been granting bachelor’s and master’s degrees. In 1969, it was made a public institution.
Boise State University offers more than 100 graduate programs, such as the MBA and MAcc programs at the College of Business and Economics; master’s and Ph.D. programs in the Colleges of Engineering, Arts & Sciences, and Education; the MPA program at the School of Public Service; and the MPH program at the College of Health Sciences. It is listed as one of the “R2: Doctoral Universities – High Research Activity” institutions in the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. The university’s NCAA Division I intercollegiate sporting team, known as the Broncos, plays in the Mountain West Conference (MWC).
After the University of Idaho (1889) and Idaho State University (1963), the institution became the third state university in Idaho 49 years ago, in 1974. Associate, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees are offered by Boise State University, which is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. It has more than 75,000 active alumni as of 2010. In the autumn of 2016, Boise State had 23,886 students enrolled, with around 76 percent of them hailing from Idaho. More than 90% of first-year students at Boise State are recent graduates.
3,916 distinct graduates received diplomas from Boise State University for the 2015–2016 academic year, including those with 18 doctorates, 10 education specialists, 670 master’s, and 2,998 bachelor’s degrees. The institution is categorized as a “Doctoral University: High Research Activity.” The Western Writers Series, a collection of monographs by writers from the American West and American Frontier, has been published by the university since 1971. Through the Albertsons Library, the university also has an online library of books and other materials about Idaho history.
Transfer and first-year candidates are also eligible for this scholarship. The Treasure Scholarship is given without application. The Gem Scholarship is given to you automatically if you satisfy the minimal conditions and submit your complete application package before the deadline. International students can apply for fully funded Treasure Scholarships. Only undergraduate programs are eligible for these grants. This scholarship covers $8,460 for each academic year.

Treasure Scholarships – Eligibility Criteria
Applicants are advised to meet the following conditions to be eligible for Treasure Scholarships at Boise State University.
- English is a required language.
- All nations in the world are eligible.
- A minimum cumulative unweighted high school GPA of 3.90 (on a scale of 4.00) is required for the Gem Scholarship.
- The minimum SAT or ACT score required for applicants is 1230 or 26.
- To qualify for the Gem Scholarship, transfer students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.75 (on a scale of 4.00).
Please be advised that some Boise State programs are not eligible for these scholarships and that to be considered, candidates must be enrolled in a program that is. Nursing, pre-nursing, radiological science, pre-radiological science, self-supported, and fully online programs are all ineligible majors.
