Aims of University of Miami Stamps Scholarships
A merit scholarship equal to the entire cost of tuition for four years of undergraduate study is given to Stamps Scholars. The scholarship provides access to a $12,000 enrichment fund that can be used for study abroad, undergraduate research, unpaid internships, and other educational opportunities in addition to covering tuition and fees, living on campus, a meal plan, health insurance through the university, textbooks, and a laptop allowance. (Expenses from the enrichment fund must first have prior permission from the Office of the Provost.)
Belonging to the Stamps Scholars national and on-campus communities, receiving funding for leadership and cultural programs, study abroad, conventions, and other regional conferences, as well as invitations to online gatherings and networking opportunities are all additional benefits of the scholarship.
Eligibility Criteria for University of Miami Stamps Scholarships
When Early Decision I and Early Action applicants complete all First-Year Admission Requirements by November 1 to apply for early admission to UM, they are automatically taken into consideration.
- A candidate must look at undergraduate programs.
- Whether you are an international or domestic student, you may apply.
- Test results or portfolios are needed of candidates for the architecture program.
- All music applicants must undertake an audition as part of the application process.
- Candidates must be top students in their fields.
- Candidates who are not native English speakers must pass an English proficiency exam like the TOEFL or IELTS to be considered.
Interview Date, Process, and Venue for University of Miami Stamps Scholarships
Candidates for the Stamps Scholarship who have advanced to the semifinal round are required to submit a brief essay answer. Candidates will be informed of their status at the time of admission in late January after their applications and supporting documents, including their responses to the preset essay question, have been reviewed to choose the finalists. Following interviews with the candidates by the Stamps Family Charitable Foundation, the results of the Stamps Scholarship will be made public by the beginning of March.

- Complete the Common Application
Fill out the Common Application and submit it. You must pay a $70 nonrefundable application fee before submitting. Make sure you use the same email address throughout the whole application process, including when signing up for exams. You must submit an extra essay in response to the following prompt in 250 words or fewer if you are applying for the Spring or Fall of 2024.
The ibis is the recognized mascot of the University of Miami. The native marsh bird, which is a fitting emblem of bravery and resiliency, is said to be the last to seek refuge before a hurricane strikes and the first to emerge once the storm has passed, according to folklore. How have past experiences influenced your courage and fortitude to endure academic and personal challenges such that, once these storms pass, you may emerge continuing to pursue your goals? Keep in mind that you can determine your motivation and conduct.
In addition, students must write a personal statement of no more than 650 words in which they reply to one of seven topics. You have the chance to show that you can articulate your ideas effectively and succinctly while maintaining your voice in these sections of the Common Application. Please include all of your extracurricular activities; they will be taken into consideration throughout the admissions process.

The Common Application, Slate.org, SCOIR, or Parchment are all electronic submission options available to school representatives. You can also send them by email to mydocuments@miami.edu directly from a representative of your institution.

- Presenting Test Scores
There has been no announcement of a change to the present test-optional policy for applicants for the Spring or Fall 2024 semester.
If they want to submit their ACT or SAT results, they may:
- Get the testing company to send the University its official results directly.
- on the Common Application, they self-report their grades. It is not necessary to recalculate or Superscore your results. Exactly when you receive them, input your scores. Official score reports will only need to be submitted by self-reporting students if they are accepted and decide to enroll.
The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) official results must be submitted by all students whose first language is not English. Visit the English Proficiency Requirements page for more on scores.
Candidates for architecture who do not submit exam results must instead submit a portfolio. The screening procedure includes an audition for every music applicant.
Note: Even after you’ve filed your application, you can change your mind and request to have your application assessed with or without test results. The deadline for updating an applicant’s file will be extended by 15 days after their chosen admission plan deadline.
Examples of test-specific modifications that candidates can make are as follows:
- Test results should be submitted for the admissions committee to review.
- Updated test results
- Adjust your selection to make the exam voluntary or not.
Applicants must fill out the Test Score Updates form in the Applicant Portal to make these and other modifications.
Apply by the date indicated on your application: November 1 for Early Decision I and Early Action, or January 1 for Early Decision II and Regular Decision. The school hopes that giving you the option to submit these revisions up to 15 days after the deadline of your chosen admission plan will provide you with the flexibility you require.
