About Anglia Ruskin University and Scholarship

In East Anglia, the United Kingdom, there is a public university called Anglia Ruskin University (ARU). Its roots may be traced to the Cambridge School of Art, which was established in 1858 by William John Beaumont, a Fellow of Trinity College at the University of Cambridge. In 1992, it was established as a university, and in 2005, it was given John Ruskin, an author and professor at Oxford University, as its new name. In 1858, Ruskin delivered the welcome address at the opening of the Cambridge School of Art. It belongs to the category of “post-1992 universities”. Excellentia per societatem, which translates as Excellence through cooperation in English from Latin, is the university’s motto.

Anglia Ruskin University received a First place ranking from People & Planet in the 2012 Green League. Ten environmental criteria—both policy- and performance-related—make up the league. It includes information gathered under the Freedom of Information Act, such as each institution’s specific CO2 emissions and recycling rate.
