About Cranfield University and Scholarship
Cranfield University, a public research university in the United Kingdom, focuses on science, engineering, design, technology, and management. Before becoming Cranfield, the College of Aeronautics (CoA) was founded in 1946. The development of aviation research had an impact on the growth and diversification of the industrial and management sectors throughout the 1950s and 1960s as well as the founding of the Cranfield School of Management in 1967. By royal charter, the Cranfield Institute of Technology was founded, granted the right to award degrees, and given a new name in 1969. The College of Aeronautics was known as the College of Aeronautics before that period. The current name was given to it in 1993.
According to the 2017 Centre for World University Rankings, Cranfield University is among the top 1% of universities worldwide for graduates who hold CEO roles at the most prestigious corporations. The full-time, one-year MBA program at Cranfield School of Management was ranked seventh globally and first in the UK in 2018, and the school’s MSc in Finance and Management was ranked sixth globally and second in the UK.
There are eight full-fee Athena scholarships available for the Thermal Power and Propulsion MSc at Cranfield University, named after the Greek goddess of knowledge. One or two from each continent (one from North and Central America, one from South America, one from Europe, one from Oceania, and two from Asia and Africa) will be offered to brilliant female engineers from underrepresented backgrounds (to increase participation). The Scholarship has the support of the Worshipful Company of Fan Makers.
The Athena scholarships are for female students whose financial circumstances would prevent them from enrolling in the program. As a result, recipients have a once-in-a-lifetime chance to help address the issues facing the power and propulsion sector, which helps society and the economy globally.

Eligibility Criteria for Athena Scholarship for Thermal Power and Propulsion MSc
Applicants are advised to meet the following requirements to be eligible for the Athena Scholarship for Thermal Power and Propulsion MSc at Cranfield University:
- The MSc in Thermal Power and Propulsion requires applicants to be female engineering students with an admissions offer.
- Candidates may be taken into consideration for either the October or the March intakes.
- The Scholarship will be given to deserving female students who, absent financial aid, would not be able to enroll in this postgraduate program.
- If selected for the Scholarship, applicants are expected to work with a member of the Thermal Power and Propulsion MSc team to complete a Thermal Power and Propulsion MSc project that relates to environmentally responsible innovations in Thermal Power.

The MSc in Thermal Power and Propulsion requires applicants to receive an admissions offer. Four months before the start of the course, applications will close.
