Undergraduate Scholarships Courses

Aim and Benefits of Bill H. James Foundation Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate)
Each year, scholarships will be given out, with varying award sums.
Eligibility for Bill H. James Foundation Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate)
To be qualified for Bill H. James Foundation Scholarship Fund, each applicant:
- Must be an American citizen.
- Must be non-Hispanic and African American or Black.
- A minimum of 12 units must be taken each semester or quarter by undergraduate students who are starting their junior or senior year of study during the 2023–2024 academic year.
- must have a GPA of at least 3.2.
- must be enrolled in an engineering program at a four-year institution in the state of California that has received accreditation.

- Include the following supporting documents in one PDF file:
- a one- to two-page essay outlining a future engineering project you’d like to work on. Describe how making the engineering industry more diverse could help your project.
- a recent résumé
- a high-quality portrait of yourself
- (Optional) a duplicate of one formal letterhead-based signed reference letter from a professor or employer from college
- a copy of your college or university’s unofficial transcripts. If you haven’t already, upload your admission letter.

Graduate Scholarships Courses

Aim and Benefits of Bill H. James Foundation Scholarship Fund (Graduate)
Each year, scholarships will be given out, with varying award sums.
Eligibility
To be eligible for Bill H. James Foundation Scholarship Fund, follow the below requirements:
- Must be an American citizen.
- Must be non-Hispanic and African American or Black.
- Graduate students must earn their Master’s degree within the 2023–2024 academic year with at least two academic semesters or one year remaining and must enroll in at least 8 units per semester or quarter.
- must have a GPA of at least 3.2.
- must be enrolled in an engineering program at a four-year institution in the state of California that has received accreditation.

- Include the following supporting documents in one PDF file:
- (Optional) a replica of one reference letter, signed, by a college lecturer or employer, on letterhead
- unofficial transcripts from your college or university, in copy form. Please upload an admission letter if you are not presently enrolled.

- An updated resume
- A one- to two-page essay describing an engineering project you’d like to work on in the future. Describe how expanding diversity in the engineering sector could benefit your project.
