About Imperial College Business School and Scholarship

The first World’s Fair was the Great Exhibition in 1851, which was planned by Queen Victoria’s husband, Prince Albert. To transform South Kensington into a center for science, culture, and business, Prince Albert utilized the very profitable fair’s revenues to erect museums and universities there.

Royal School of Mines, City and Guilds of London Institute, and Royal College of Science were combined into one institution when Imperial College was founded by royal charter in 1907. King Edward VII laid the cornerstone for the Royal School of Mines structure, which is now a component of the Business School facilities, in 1909.
