About Bond University and Scholarship
The first private, non-profit university in Australia, Bond University is situated in Robina, a suburb of Queensland’s City of Gold Coast. Since its inception on May 15, 1989, Bond University has largely been a teaching-focused institution of higher learning with a three-semester schedule. The institution has been Australia’s top university for the educational experience for 17 years running and is placed 20th in the Times Higher Education (THE) rankings of the Best Small Universities in the World.
Bond provides a variety of accelerated undergraduate and postgraduate degrees and programs, certificates, and non-award programs through its four primary university institutions and academic faculties.
There are a limited number of scholarships available to domestic and international Ph.D. candidates who want to further their studies through a Ph.D. program. Bond University prioritizes its higher-degree research student population and offers significant direct financial assistance to many students. Bond University makes funding available to help with the financial costs of fee offset (waiver) and living stipends.
The allocation of scholarships among candidates is guided by two basic concepts. First and foremost, scholarships will be given through a competitive merit-based procedure. Second, regardless of their study topic or the source of their scholarship money, scholarship candidates must be handled similarly and fairly.
Bond University determines whether students are eligible for scholarships based on merit. Only those with exceptional academic merit and research potential will be considered for a scholarship. An offer of admission to the Ph.D. program does not ensure that a student will be awarded a scholarship. The University focuses on accepting Ph.D. candidates who will be enrolled full-time on campus and receive living stipend subsidies. The HDR Scholarships are not open to Masters students.
