About Flinders University and Scholarship
Flinders University, a prominent public research institution, is situated in Adelaide, South Australia, and boasts a widespread presence across 11 locations in South Australia and the Northern Territory. Established in 1966, the university derives its name from the renowned British navigator Matthew Flinders, who extensively explored and surveyed the Australian and South Australian coastline in the early 19th century.
The flagship campus, located at Bedford Park in Adelaide’s southern region, spans an impressive 156 acres of lush gardens and native bushland, creating a verdant and conducive environment for academic pursuits.
As a member of the Innovative Research Universities (IRU) Group, Flinders University is committed to fostering cutting-edge research and innovation. The university’s research efforts are not only concentrated on its main campus but also extend to regional and remote areas, contributing to the development of knowledge and solutions that address the needs of diverse communities.
A few further examples of Flinders University’s dedication to high-quality research include programs such as the CRF PhD Excellence Award. This esteemed honor offers $5,000 annually to awardees for a maximum of three years. It can be used as a helpful addition to an Australian Government Research Training Program (AGRTP) Stipend Scholarship or another competitive scholarship of equal value. Flinders University hopes to promote and support high-impact research projects that increase knowledge and academic success by providing this kind of funding to doctorate candidates.
To sum up, Flinders University is a vibrant organization with a long history, a dedication to innovative research, and a multicampus layout that facilitates interaction with many communities throughout the Northern Territory and South Australia. Through initiatives like the CRF PhD Excellence Award, the university actively supports and promotes the pursuit of excellence in research and academic scholarship.
