Flinders University, a prominent public research institution, is situated in Adelaide, South Australia, and boasts a widespread presence across 11 locations in South Australia and the Northern Territory. Established in 1966, the university derives its name from the renowned British navigator Matthew Flinders, who extensively explored and surveyed the Australian and South Australian coastline in the early 19th century.

The flagship campus, located at Bedford Park in Adelaide’s southern region, spans an impressive 156 acres of lush gardens and native bushland, creating a verdant and conducive environment for academic pursuits.
