About Goldsmiths University of London and Scholarship

The Goldsmiths’ College, often known as the Goldsmiths’ University of London, is an English research institution that is a part of the University of London. The Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths established it as The Goldsmiths’ Technical and Recreational Institute in New Cross, London, in 1891. It was renamed Goldsmiths’ College after being bought by the University of London in 1904, and it focuses on the humanities, social sciences, design, and computers. The old Royal Naval School was located on the grounds of the campus’s centerpiece, the Richard Hoggart Building, which was first erected in 1792.

In terms of communication and media studies, Goldsmiths is placed 12th, and 15th in art and design, and in the top 50 for anthropology, sociology, and performing arts, according to Quacquarelli Symonds (2021). Over 10,000 undergraduate and graduate students will be enrolled at the institution in 2020. 37% of students are international, and 52% of undergraduates who started their studies at age 21 or older were mature students. In addition, around a third of Goldsmiths’ students are graduate students.

They work together with other academic institutions to develop fresh strategies for addressing important social concerns. Additionally, they reach outside their industry, working with NGOs, corporations, and governments at the local and national levels to exchange information and advance their own.
