A complete stipend for sub-Saharan African GHD students’ tuition.

Students apply the information and abilities they are acquiring in the classroom to three distinct professional work experiences in addition to the curriculum:

  • The summer field project, which is a two to three-month fully paid abroad work experience;
  • An internship lasting at least one academic semester in a pertinent international development organization or agency located in Washington, DC; and
  • The capstone project (a client engagement project spanning two semesters with a focus on project management and analysis)

Eligibility Criteria for Georgetown University Full Masters Scholarships

One year of experience working in international development is necessary for the GHD program, which is practitioner-focused. Two years or more of professional experience is preferable. An undergraduate degree must be earned by all applicants before suggested admission.

Candidates to the Global Human Development Program should meet the following requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree.
  • Completion of courses in introductory macro- and microeconomics and statistics (must be completed before enrollment in August, not necessarily before applying)
  • Ability to work well in both English and another language (passing an oral proficiency test before graduation implies that students will have a reasonable command of one foreign language)
  • It is highly encouraged to have many years of experience living, studying, and working overseas.
  • Completion of the GMAT or GRE, with the best option being to take the test in time to submit results by the application deadline.
