The University of Heidelberg Hans-Peter Wild Talent Scholarships in Germany for 2023/2024

The Hans-Peter Wild Talent Scholarships are given out once a year, at the beginning of each winter semester, to exceptionally talented rising students from Germany and abroad who wish to pursue a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at Heidelberg University in the MINT field (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, and technology). Documents for Bachelor’s program applicants

  • The table format for a curriculum vitae
  • Motivational letter, which is a component of the application
  • Foreign certificates for university entrance must be translated into German or English, and if possible, converted to the German grading system, along with a copy of the original certificate (which must include the final grade).
  • Supporting documents on MINT-related honors and awards, volunteer internships completed, professional training in a MINT field, involvement in working groups, seminars, or student academies, or a study plan for students, if they should be taken into consideration during the selection process.

Documents for Master’s program applicants

  • A table-format curriculum vitae
  • Letter of Motivation, which is a component of the application
  • Including the final grade, the first university credential that is relevant for a Master’s degree. A certificate of current date from the university attesting to your academic accomplishments to date (preferably with an average grade), if this is not available by the end of the application period. By the beginning of the first week of the semester’s lecture period, which follows the application period, the university diploma certificate must be submitted. 
  • Please be aware that foreign first university degrees must be submitted in original form, along with a certified translation into German or English and, if feasible, an official conversion of the grade to the German equivalent.
  • Supporting documentation for MINT activities, such as honors and awards, volunteer internships, professional training in a MINT subject, conferences, presentations either in person or by poster, and (co-)publications
  • Two letters of recommendation from experts in the MINT sector. Teachers, lecturers, associate professors, heads of research groups, academic staff, and lecturers working within the framework of a multiweek-long study program or student academy are some examples of these.
  • Admission notification, if available

HOW THE SUBMISSION OF YOUR DOCUMENTS WORKS

Within the application period (May 1 to July 15), the electronic application materials for a scholarship must be submitted via the online application portal on this website. before the start of the first week of the semester after the application period, you can submit the missing documents if you don’t have your first university diploma and your certificate of enrollment before the application period’s conclusion.
