About the University of Technology Sydney and Scholarship

Sydney, New South Wales, Australia is home to the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), a public research institution. The university was established in its current form in 1988, although its roots as a technical school may be found in the Sydney Technical College, which served as the forerunner of the New South Wales Institute of Technology (NSWIT), dating back to 1878. In addition to being a part of Universities Australia (UA), the Worldwide Universities Network (WUN), and the Australian Technology Network (ATN), UTS also belongs to these organizations.

A total of 210 postgraduate courses and 130 undergraduate courses are offered through the university’s 9 colleges and schools. 44,615 students attended the institution in 2022, of whom 32,825 were undergraduates. More than 45 research centers and institutes are located within the institution, and they frequently work with businesses and the government.

There are more than 180 clubs and societies recognized by UTS. Its varsity sports teams, which are managed by UTS Sport, play all year round in both the UniSport Nationals and separate national competitions. The institution will have around 270,000 alumni from 140 different countries as of 2022.

The Helen McFadyen Memorial Indigenous Scholarship was established as a memorial award in her honor. Indigenous Australian students who are starting or continuing their undergraduate studies at the UTS Faculty of Law will get financial assistance through the award. The purpose of the scholarship is to boost the recipient’s capacity to finish their UTS course at a greater level of proficiency than would otherwise be the case.
