Eligibility Criteria for Marta S. and L. Austin Weeks Endowed Scholarship:

Candidates are advised to meet the following conditions to be eligible for the Marta S. and L. Austin Weeks Endowed Scholarship at the University of Miami:

  • When Early Decision I and Early Action applicants complete all First-Year Admission Requirements by November 1 to apply for early admission to UM, they are automatically taken into consideration. 
  • Open exclusively to citizens and permanent residents of the United States

Interview Date, and Process Marta S. and L. Austin Weeks Endowed Scholarship

Weeks Scholarship applicants who have been chosen are asked to write an essay to be considered as finalists. After reviewing every essay entry, the selection committee will decide which finalists should be awarded the Weeks Scholarship.

The University of Miami’s scholarship program will be held in early March, and recipients will be asked to take part. Candidates will speak with UM faculty members and existing scholars as part of this event to learn more about the interest-driven education.

Terms and Conditions

A Weeks Scholar must finish a full-time undergraduate program of study with a minimum of 24 credit hours every academic year, including at least 12 credits in each of the fall and spring semesters. At the University of Miami, a student must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 for the whole academic year, with the initial computation taking place after the second semester of attendance. The award is subject to change if additional grants, scholarships, prepaid tuition, and/or housing assistance become available that were not expected at the time the award was issued. Application Deadline for Marta S. and L. Austin Weeks Endowed Scholarship

Fill out the Common Application and submit it. You must pay a $70 nonrefundable application fee before submitting. Make sure you use the same email address throughout the whole application process, including when signing up for exams.

You will be asked to submit an extra essay of 250 words if you are applying for Spring or Fall 2024.

You have the chance to show that you can articulate your ideas effectively and succinctly while maintaining your individual voice in these sections of the Common Application. List all extracurricular activities you are involved in; these will be considered during the admissions process.
