About John Carroll University and Scholarship

University Heights, Ohio’s John Carroll University is a Jesuit private university. It’s a Cleveland suburb-based liberal arts college with a business school and a college of arts and sciences that’s largely geared at undergraduate students. A total of 3,650 pupils attend John Carroll. The institution provides undergraduate degrees in business, nursing, the liberal arts, and the sciences, as well as master’s-level programs in a few fields.

The College of Arts and Sciences and the Boler College of Business, each of which defines its academic programs under the direction of the Academic Vice President, are the two colleges into which John Carroll University is divided. In addition to the criteria set out by their main field of study, all students must complete the requirements outlined in the core curriculum.

The John Carroll campus is made up of more than twenty significant buildings, most of which are Collegiate Gothic in design (not to be confused with the prevalent Tudor Revival style seen in much of Cleveland Heights). The Administration Building, which is topped by the iconic Grasselli Tower at the university, is strikingly similar to Hampton Court, the residence of the English king.

To improve the experience for students and the neighborhood, the university recently bought several residences as well as a neighboring commercial center. All undergraduate students are required to complete a comprehensive core curriculum by the university. Students can select from two philosophy courses, two religious studies courses, and a social justice course among others in the Jesuit Heritage area. Additionally, students take integrated courses, such as a course on Engaging the Global Community and a pair of related courses on the same subject.

John Carroll University Merit Scholarships for International Students are presently accepting applications from qualified applicants who want to enroll in a degree program there during the academic year 2023–2024. The Merit programs are fiercely competitive, and some special ones reward devotion to leadership and service as well as academic achievement in addition to academic prizes.

When a student enrolls at JCU, they are given a scholarship, which is renewed annually if the student continues to meet the Standards of Academic Progress. You may get more details about renewability here. The merit scholarship programs were created to honor kids from comparable circumstances and to recognize their accomplishments throughout high school with the hope that they will be able to bring their skills to the institution.
