About the University Of Westminster and Scholarship

The University of Westminster is a public research institution in London, England. It was the first polytechnic in London, having opened in 1838 as the Royal Polytechnic Institution. In August 1839, the Polytechnic gained a Royal charter, and in 1992, it became the University of Westminster.

Westminster’s main campus is located on Regent Street in downtown London, with satellite campuses in Fitzrovia, Marylebone, and Harrow. It also runs Tashkent, Uzbekistan’s Westminster International University. The institution is divided into three colleges and twelve schools, with over 65 departments and centers, including the Communication and Media Research Institute (CAMRI) and the Centre for the Study of Democracy.

Westminster has four main campuses, three of which are located in central London. The Regent Campus is a collection of buildings centered on its historic headquarters at 309 Regent Street. The Regent Street Theater is located within the 309 Regent Street building and is a fully operational theater that is available to the public. The Little Titchfield Street building, which houses the library for the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, as well as the Westminster Law School, is adjacent, as is the Wells Street building.

Westminster Business School is located on Westminster’s Marylebone Campus. The Marylebone Campus is on Marylebone Road, immediately across from Madame Tussaud’s and the Baker Street subway station. It was constructed in the 1960s and currently houses the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, Westminster Business School, and the Policy Studies Institute. The P3 display room, a 14,000 sq ft (1,300 m2) facility in the School of Engineering’s former concrete construction hall, debuted in 2008.

The Cavendish Campus is a contemporary glass and steel structure located on New Cavendish Street in Fitzrovia, near the BT Tower. It houses laboratories for science, engineering, and computer science. Warren Street, Great Portland Street, and Goodge Street subterranean stations are all nearby.

The Harrow Campus is located in a neighborhood just outside of Central London. It serves as the foundation for courses in Media, Arts, and Design. It also houses London Gallery West, which displays a diverse range of modern media, art, and design work. Northwick Park on the Metropolitan line is the closest Tube station to the Harrow campus.

One scholarship is offered for a Home Fee Master’s student who is female, of Black, Asian, or Minority Ethnic descent, and who has been accepted to the University of Westminster’s MSc Real Estate Development program. Students who study part-time are also able to apply.
