The London Metropolitan University Vice Chancellors Scholarships is offering an exceptional financial initiative called Vice-Chancellor’s Ph.D. Scholarships to recruit aspiring and brilliant students in the UK. All qualified applicants are welcome to apply for one of up to ten postgraduate scholarships that are completely financed and provide up to four years of full-time support for the completion of a Ph.D. at the university.

Informally referred to as London Met, London Metropolitan University is a public research university in London, England. The University of North London was founded in 2002 by the merger of London Guildhall University, previously the City of London Polytechnic, and the Polytechnic of North London. The University had its origins in 1848.
In addition to campuses in the City of London and the London Borough of Islington, the institution also maintains a museum, archives, and libraries. The TUC Library, the Irish Studies Collection, and the Frederick Parker Collection are examples of special collections. The institution formerly declined to take part in newspaper ranking tables because the UK Government, not (commercial) newspapers, should evaluate universities.
The new administration changed this approach, and the university was ranked 118th out of 120 institutions in The Guardian University Guide 2013 rankings, which were released in 2012. The Quality Assurance Agency stated “reasonable confidence” in the “academic standards” of the university’s awards in the 2011 Institutional Audit. The Times Higher Education’s RAE ranking table placed London Metropolitan in equal 107th place out of 132 universities in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise.
The institution did poorly in the previous national league tables (2014–2015) and came in last in each league table, including Guardian Institution Guide 2015 (116th), Complete University Guide 2015 (123rd), and The Times and Sunday Times University League Table 2014 (121st). The university did better, ranking 87th in the most recent Guardian University Guide 2022.
Benefits
The annual stipend for each London Metropolitan University Vice Chancellors Scholarship will be $23,000 and will be based on the London Living Wage rate of £11.95 per hour for 37 hours per week and 52 weeks per year net. The duration of this financing is capped at four years.

- Students from the UK and other overseas applicants are both eligible to apply for London Metropolitan University Vice Chancellors Scholarships.
- Students may apply for undergraduate or graduate courses taught at London Metropolitan University.
- The following requirements must be met by applicants to be considered for Vice Chancellors Scholarships at London Metropolitan University:
- The candidates should hold an outstanding degree in a field related to the position being applied for.
How to Apply for London Metropolitan University Vice Chancellors Scholarships
- Students must log into the university portal to submit their applications online. At the bottom of this page, there is a separate application for scholarships.
- Supporting Records: The university requires the following paperwork from the students:
- a succinct cover letter stating your reasons for applying
- a 300–500 word proposal outlining how they will contribute to the topic in question. Only one project may have applicants at a time.
- A 200-word statement outlining their principles regarding the university’s values and the race equity agenda
- A scanned or PDF of their credentials
- Scanning a passport or other ID document
- Students must have a grade point average of at least 2.7 or, in the case of non-GPA grading systems, a grade average of at least C.
- Language Requirement: Students must have taken the IELTS test and scored at least 6.5.
