The University of Technology Sydney is accepting applications for its PhD program from technically gifted students. The applicant(s) who are chosen for admission will start the Ph.D. program in the School of Accounting. The research project(s) under Professor Andrew Ferguson’s direction will deal with problems in the mining and extractive sectors.

In the field of mining finance economics, Andrew has successfully guided several Ph.D. candidates to complete completion. Among other issues, there are issues with the value of mining companies, mining sector regulation, accounting and tax issues in the extractive industries, and issues with certain commodities. The situation makes use of the significant number of mining businesses listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (usually more than 500–600 in any one year).
