University of Leicester College of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities Minority Ethnic Masters Scholarships in the UK for 2023/2024

The College of Social Sciences, Arts, and Humanities Minority Ethnic Masters Scholarships will be given out for the academic year 2023–2024 as part of an endeavor by the University of Leicester to boost the involvement of minority students. Students can choose from up to ten prizes. To be eligible for the scholarship, candidates must have applied to a master’s degree program in a field of study that qualifies and received an admissions offer. Probably a tuition fee waiver will be the prize.

The Times Good University Guide and The Guardian have previously routinely placed the university among the top 20 universities in the United Kingdom. The 10 winners will get scholarships from the University of Leicester that will cover all of their tuition costs as well as provide them with career development assistance and mentorship so they may apply for the Minority Ethnic Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) program.

College of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities Minority Ethnic Masters Scholarships – Eligibility

  • Students from the United Kingdom are eligible to apply for the College of Social Sciences, Arts, and Humanities Minority Ethnic Masters Scholarships.
  • Acceptable Subjects or Courses: Applications are accepted for master’s programs in Archaeology and Ancient History, Business, Criminology, Economics, Education, English, History, Film Studies, Law, Media and Communication, Modern Languages, Museum Studies, Politics, and International Relations, or Sociology at the University of Leicester’s College of Social Sciences, Arts, and Humanities.
  • Qualification Standards: The following requirements must be met by candidates to be considered for the College of Social Sciences, Arts, and Humanities’ Minority Ethnic Masters Scholarships:
  1. The candidates must be citizens of the UK with legal status.
  2. An ethnic minority must be self-identified by the candidates.
  3. The candidates must be enrolled full-time in a master’s degree program at the University of Leicester that will be offered via distance learning or on-campus commencing in September or October 2023.

Application Procedure for College of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities Minority Ethnic Masters Scholarships

  • Use the university portal to submit your admissions application. For the College of Social Sciences, Arts, and Humanities’ Minority Ethnic Masters Scholarships award, all qualified applicants will be taken into consideration.
  • Added Materials: To enroll at the university, students must provide the following paperwork:
  1. Transcripts and academic credentials
  2. Personal statement and research proposal Two references that have been written up
  3. Evidence of your proficiency in English
  • Requisites for Admission: The candidates must be academically qualified to enroll in their chosen course and fulfill the admission requirements.
  • Needs in Language: The following exams of English language competency must be taken and results submitted by the students: IELTS
  1. why you want to pursue your chosen Masters program; 
  2. how your prior academic and/or professional experience has equipped you with the knowledge and abilities necessary for postgraduate study; 
  3. how enrolling in this course will advance your personal and/or professional development goals; and
  4. how the program relates to your potential research project (such as a PhD).
  • Applications will be evaluated based on their overall strength, taking into account the candidate’s past academic successes and personal statement.

Important tip for applicants:

  • Complete the Minority Ethnic Scholarship application form and submit it before June 30, 2023. No consideration will be given to applicants who do not submit a completed Minority Ethnic Scholarship application form.
  • By the end of July 2023, the panel hopes to have decided which applications have been chosen.
  • Any requirements outlined in your offer letter must still be met if you have a conditional offer of a spot at the university.
