Since its founding in 1961, Highline College has changed to accommodate the evolving demands of its student body as well as technological improvements. Constructed in 1964, the present campus in Des Moines has undergone deliberate extensions to meet the increasing number of students and improve academic amenities. The college was once known as Highline College, but after the Community College Act of 1967 was passed by the Washington State Legislature, it briefly changed its name to Highline Community College in 1967.

Highline College New ISP Student Scholarships – Eligibility Criteria
Applicants are advised to meet the following requirements to be qualified for Highline College New ISP Student Scholarships:
- Enroll in Fall 2023, Winter 2024, Spring 2024, or Summer 2024 to start at Highline College. (Students not eligible who enrolled in one or more Highline courses before Fall 2023.)
- Possess a valid F-1 visa and pay tuition as a non-resident.
- Enroll in a minimum of 12 credits throughout the initial and subsequent quarters.
- Be enrolled full-time and in good standing at Highline College if you’re in the US. A minimum of 12 credits must be completed each quarter to maintain full-time status, and only one remote class may be applied toward the completion of the whole program.
- Requirements for Admission: Candidates must be enrolled for the designated academic periods at Highline College as newly admitted international students.

- Write a brief essay in which you respond to the query, “What made you decide on Highline College?” Your personal story should come across in the writing. The examination will not take grammar into account; instead, it will concentrate on your motivation.
