About the University Of Westminster and Scholarship

The University of Westminster is a public university in London, England. It was the first polytechnic in London, founded in 1838 as the Royal Polytechnic Institution. The Polytechnic obtained a Royal charter in August 1839 and became the University of Westminster in 1992.

Westminster’s main campus is on Regent Street in downtown London, with satellite campuses in Fitzrovia, Marylebone, and Harrow. It also runs the Westminster International University in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The institution is divided into three colleges and 12 schools, with over 65 departments and centers, including the Communication and Media Research Institute (CAMRI) and the Centre for the Study of Democracy. It also has a Policy Studies Institute, a Business School, and a Law School.

The university made £240.9 million in revenue per year during 2021–2022; its costs totaled £223.7 million, of which £4.25 million came from research grants and contracts. The Postgraduate Part Fee Scholarships are available to full-time postgraduate international fee-paying students with a minimum 2.1 UK degree equivalent and offer a one-time £3,000 tuition fee payment.

Eligibility Criteria for University Of Westminster International Postgraduate Part Fee Scholarships

  1. You must have an acceptance letter from the University of Westminster for a full-time Master’s program beginning in January 2024.

  3. If you already hold a Postgraduate degree, you cannot apply.
  4. Please be aware that you are NOT eligible to apply for a Postgraduate Part Fee scholarship if your course falls into one or more of the following categories:
  • Part-time courses
  • Postgraduate Diploma (including Legal Practice Postgraduate Diploma)
  • Professional or short courses (e.g. RIBA pt III, ACCA, CIMA, CiLEX)
  • Master’s courses taught exclusively by distance learning (online only masters)
  • Conversion courses (e.g. Graduate Diploma in Law)
  • Integrated Master’s (e.g. a four-year program that combines undergraduate and postgraduate study into a single course)
  • Research-level courses such as MPhil/PhD 

Selection Criteria

  1. The minimal requirement for applicants is a first-class honors degree from the UK.
  2. If you already hold a postgraduate degree from another school that is comparable to a UK Master’s degree, you are not eligible to apply.
  3. The University will additionally accept candidates with a minimum UK equivalent of a Good 2.1 Honours degree for students holding an offer for one of the following courses:
  • MA Cultural and Critical Studies
  • MA Professional Writing
  • MA Global Development
  • MA Criminology
  • MA English Language and Linguistics
  • MA Creative Writing: Writing the City
  • MA English Language and Literature
  • MA English Literature: Modern & Contemporary Fiction
