Flinders University Sophia Fund Indigenous Bursaries, Australia for 2023

Flinders University is now accepting applications for its partially funded Sophia Fund Indigenous Bursaries.

About Flinders University and Scholarship

Flinders University is a public research university having campuses in Adelaide, South Australia, and Darwin, Northern Territory. It was named after British explorer and surveyor Matthew Flinders, who explored and mapped the Australian and South Australian coastlines in the early nineteenth century.

The main campus of Flinders University, located in Bedford Park in Adelaide’s south, is surrounded by 156 acres of gardens and native bushland, making it a green institution. Tonsley, the Adelaide Central Business District, Renmark, Alice Springs, and Darwin are among the other campuses. It is a member of the IRU Group of Innovative Research Universities. According to the Australian Government’s Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching’s 2021 Graduate Outcome Survey – Longitudinal, Flinders University tops the country for postgraduate employment outcomes.

About 12 km south of the Adelaide city center lies Bedford Park, a neighborhood in Adelaide’s inner southern region and home to the university’s main campus. Additionally, Tonsley and Victoria Square in the city’s center are home to the university. The Northern Territory, southwest Victoria, and rural South Australia all have several external educational facilities that are maintained by the organization. International students accounted for 19.5% of the on-campus student body as of 2020, and some programs are also provided off-campus, mainly in the Asia-Pacific area.

In the 2022 Times Higher Education rankings, Flinders University is ranked 266 out of the top 300 universities worldwide. In addition to higher degree research supervision in all areas, Flinders University provides more than 160 undergraduate and graduate courses. Several courses augment in-person instruction with the use of new information and communication technologies, which also provide flexible possibilities.

The Sophia Fund Indigenous Bursaries have been made possible thanks to a kind grant from the Sophia Fund. They were set up to encourage students of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent to enroll in higher education. The Sophia Fund contributed money to help pay for these bursaries. As long as gifts and revenues from them are adequate, the prize will continue.
