Eligibility Criteria for Wageningen University & Research Africa Scholarship Programme
Candidates are advised to meet the following conditions to be qualified for the Wageningen University & Research Africa Scholarship Programme:
- You are an African national by nationality.
- You have applied before the deadline for one of Wageningen University & Research’s master’s programs. Please go to: How can I apply for the master’s program?
- You are admitted to this MSc program without restriction.
- You have a first-class honors degree, a GPA of 80% or better on your bachelor’s degree, and you are a demonstrated top 5% student.
Note: You can only be invited to the Africa Scholarship Program selection process if you fulfill all of the prerequisites listed above.
Interview Date, Process, and Venue for Wageningen University & Research Africa Scholarship Programme
Steps of the selection process
- Invitation to Apply: All students who have been granted unconditional admission to Wageningen University’s MSc program will be evaluated in March 2024 about the Africa Scholarship Program.
- A pre-selected group of candidates will get an email inviting them to participate in the ASP selection process on March 21, 2024. Only those candidates who have been invited to participate in the selection process will receive an email.
- The assignment: Those selected for consideration will be given a task to finish by April 4, 2024.
- Online interview: A smaller group of candidates will be asked for an online interview with a member of the selection committee following a comprehensive evaluation of all submitted assignments. On April 17, 2024, candidates who sent in an assignment will find out if they’ll be asked to an online interview or not.
- The interviews are scheduled for April 23, 2024, and May 3, 2024.
- All of the interviewees will be informed of the selection process outcome on May 13, 2024.
The following outcomes are possible:
- Positive and the recipient will get an ASP scholarship;
- Favorable but the applicant will be added to a waiting list;
- Negative, indicating that there will be no award of an ASP scholarship.
Important Dates:
- February 1, 2024: Deadline to apply for an MSc programme
- March 21, 2024: Invitation of selected applicants to take part in the additional selection method (approx. 40 applicants will be selected)
- April 4, 2024: Deadline for the assignment
- April 17, 2024: Decision about invitation online interviews communicated (approx. 20 applicants will be interviewed)
- April 23 – May 3, 2024: MS Teams interviews
- May 13, 2024: Results of the selection method communicated
