About Boston University and Scholarship
The private research institution Boston University (BU) is located in Boston, Massachusetts. Before being incorporated in Boston in 1869, BU was established in 1839 by a group of Boston Methodists with its first site in Newbury, Vermont. BU is a member of the Boston Consortium for Higher Education as well as the Association of American Universities. It is classed as being in the “R1: Doctoral Universities – Very High Research Activity” category.
Despite maintaining its historical ties to the United Methodist Church, the university is nonsectarian. One of Boston’s major employers, the institution employs more than 4,000 academic members and around 34,000 students. Through 17 schools and colleges spread over three metropolitan sites, it provides bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees, doctorates, and degrees in medicine, dentistry, business, and law.
The Boston University Medical Campus is situated in Boston’s South End, as opposed to the main campus’s location in the Fenway-Kenmore and Allston areas along the Charles River. The Wheelock College of Education and Human Development, originally Wheelock College before it joined BU in 2018, is located on the Fenway campus.
About 20 exceptional students are selected by BU each year to participate in the Trustee Scholars Program. Many of the organization’s current Scholars were top students in their high school classes and had flawless 4.0 GPAs. Along with having outstanding academic qualifications, Trustee Scholars also exhibit intellectual curiosity, creativity, and a diversity of unusual perspectives, experiences, or accomplishments. Eligibility Criteria for Boston University Trustee Scholarship
- Both domestic and foreign students are eligible for the Boston University Trustee Scholarship.
- The ideal candidates are high achievers who excelled in their high school coursework.
- Trustee Scholars are intellectually and artistically daring and exhibit perspectives, experiences, or accomplishments that go above the norm.
- They will be expected to turn in an essay to prove their intelligence and academic aptitude.
Application Process for Boston University Trustee Scholarship
Visit Boston University at www.commonapp.org to apply for the scholarship. Applicants have to follow the below process:
- Apply by December 1 to one of BU’s undergraduate degree programs by submitting the Common Application and any other paperwork.
- As a part of your application to BU, complete the Trustee Scholarship essay on the Common Application.
