About the University of Hohenheim and Scholarship

The University of Hohenheim, situated in the southern region of Stuttgart, Germany, stands as a campus university with a rich history dating back to its founding in 1818, making it the oldest university in Stuttgart. Historically, the university has been known for its emphasis on agricultural and natural sciences.

In collaboration with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the University of Hohenheim offers a unique opportunity through the “Development-Related Postgraduate Courses” (EPOS) initiative, specifically for the M.Sc. Agricultural Economics program. The DAAD, in partnership with the university, extends a limited number of scholarships to qualified candidates. Prospective applicants are advised to refer to the official webpage for the most up-to-date requirements and application procedures.

The EPOS scholarships, administered by the DAAD, are designed to support exceptional candidates from developing countries with robust academic and professional backgrounds. Successful scholarship recipients typically bring work experience from public authorities, state institutions, and/or private companies in developing countries. Their engagement in planning and executing directives and projects is often centered on development policies related to technology, economics, and social impact.

Beneficiaries of the DAAD EPOS scholarships for the Agricultural Economics Master’s program enjoy several privileges. These include the waiver of tuition fees for the entire two-year program, health insurance coverage, a monthly living stipend, and coverage of travel costs to and from Germany, as well as research-related travel expenses (refer to the EPOS webpage for detailed information and additional benefits). As an integral component of the EPOS initiative, scholarship recipients participate in an intensive German language course from August to September at a language center in Germany, preceding the commencement of the Master’s program.
