About Flinders University and Scholarship

Flinders University is a public research university based in Adelaide, South Australia, with 11 campuses spread across the state and the Northern Territory. It was named after British sailor Matthew Flinders, who researched and surveyed the Australian and South Australian coastlines in the early nineteenth century.

Flinders University’s main campus in Adelaide’s south, Bedford Park, is built amid 156 acres of gardens and native bushland, making it a green institution. Tonsley, Adelaide Central Business District, Renmark, Alice Springs, and Darwin are among the other campuses. It is a member of the IRU Group (Innovative Research Universities).

Postgraduate students are given Flinders University Research Scholarships based on academic performance and research potential. The scholarships enable adequately qualified students to pursue a full-time Master’s or Doctorate through research.

Flinders University Research Scholarships are available for up to three years for a Doctorate by Research or two years for a master’s degree, subject to acceptable progress. Studies previously completed toward the degree will be removed from the maximum duration of tenure.
