About Montana State University and Scholarship

In Bozeman, Montana, there is a public land-grant research institution called Montana State University(MSU). It is the biggest university in the region. Through its nine colleges, MSU provides bachelor’s degrees in 60 subjects, master’s degrees in 68 fields, and doctorate degrees in 35 fields. In the autumn of 2019, more than 16,700 students enrolled at MSU and were instructed by 547 part-time and 796 full-time teachers. MSU, which is categorized as an “R1: Doctoral Universities – Very High Research Activity” institution, spent $129.6 million on research in 2017.

The MSU Office of International Programs is happy to provide competitive merit-based scholarships to qualified international undergraduate students who have been admitted fully to Montana State University. The candidates’ grade point average is the only criterion for awarding these awards. The allocated funds, which may only be used toward MSU tuition, are ineligible for students who are conditionally permitted to take intensive English classes with INTERLINK International Institute.

Application Process for International Undergraduate Merit-Based Scholarships

Applying involves just four easy steps:

  • Complete the Application: You may apply online here. You can also download and print a paper application on International Undergraduate Application Form.
  • Pay the US$30 application cost for a paper application or the US$38 application fee for an online application. The charge should be payable in US dollars. Make cheques payable to Montana State University alone. There won’t be any application fee waivers, extensions, or refunds. The application cost must be paid before the application may be submitted. Visit https://www.montana.edu/admissions/apppay.html to pay right now.
  • Send in your English proficiency documentation: This may be accomplished in several ways. Please visit the school’s webpage on Options for Meeting the English Proficiency Admissions Requirements. If a student is unable to produce documentation of their English language ability, the school may provide conditional admission. This entails enrolling in the college’s rigorous English program before starting the academic program. Please take notice that until a student is completely admitted and meets the English Proficiency Requirement, they will not be eligible for scholarships. During the last few weeks of Interlink’s sessions, students should get in touch with OIP to seek a review of their application to determine whether they qualify for a scholarship.
  • Send your transcripts: If you are applying as a freshman, kindly send the institution a copy of your high school transcript. If you are applying as a transfer student, kindly include transcripts for all post-secondary coursework you have completed. Please include both the front and back of your transcripts. Any transcripts that are not in English must also be translated into English by a Certified English Translator in addition to the original transcript. Although formal transcripts are required before enrolling in MSU courses, the institution will accept unofficial transcripts for enrollment. Your institution should provide Montana State University direct transcripts.

Please Note: When accepted, unofficial materials can be emailed to globalstudy@montana.edu in scanned form. The below address must be used to provide official documentation, such as test results and transcripts:

Office of International Programs

Attn: International Admissions

PO Box 172260

183 Strand Union Building
