Eligibility Criteria for Lambeth Residents Grant
Candidates are advised to meet the following conditions to be qualified for the Lambeth Residents Grant at City University London:
- Residency: You must have lived in the London Borough of Lambeth for at least one year.
- Income: You must live in a low-income household, which may include households receiving income-based benefits or individuals who are working and receiving a very low wage.
- Age: Applicants should be aged 18 or over. For college or sixth-form students, applications can be accepted from individuals who are 17 if they are applying for a grant for the academic year in which they will turn 18.
Note: Meeting these criteria is essential to qualify for grants from the Walcot Foundation, which aims to support low-income Lambeth residents in their pursuit of education and training.
In addition, any one of the following occurrences should apply:
- You are studying (or planning to study) towards a first degree or vocational qualification that has a strong likelihood of leading to employment (individuals who already have a degree or vocational qualification at NVQ level 4 or equivalent are not eligible).
- You have been out of work for much of the last five years and have not gained a degree or NVQ-4 (or equivalent) vocational qualification in the last 10 years.
- You are in low-paid work (receiving a working tax credit) but want to enhance your chances of finding better-paid employment by undertaking qualifications/training courses.
