Goldsmiths University Of London Mature Student Scholarship, UK 2023

Application is now open for the Mature Student Scholarship at the Goldsmiths University Of London. Interested candidates are encouraged to send their applications in before the deadline date.

About Goldsmiths University Of London and Scholarship

In a home erected by Deptford distiller William Goodhew in New Cross, the Counter Hill Academy first welcomed students in 1792. After purchasing the property, the Royal Naval School erected what is now the Richard Hoggart Building in 1843.

The school was bought by the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths, who reopened it as The Goldsmiths’ Company’s Technical and Recreational Institute in 1891. The Company gave the Institute to the University of London at the start of the twentieth century. The institution was given a new name, Goldsmiths College, and the contemporary Goldsmiths period had begun.

On the spot where Goldsmiths is now, a private boarding school for boys called Counter Hill Academy was located from 1792 until 1838. The Royal Naval School purchased the property after the Academy shut down. The sons of Royal Navy and Royal Marines officers received an education from them during the following fifty years.

An awarding panel will take applicants’ applications into account. The panelists will take into account both the applicant’s academic record and their responses to the questions on the award application form because they are all aware that candidates will have a wide variety of unique abilities, traits, and experiences. The panelists are aware that the relevance of the replies to the questions and their content, rather than the quality of the writing, is what matters.
