Miami University is a public research university in Oxford, Ohio (sometimes known as Miami of Ohio or just Miami). After the Ohio institution, which was established in 1804, the institution was established in 1809, making it the second-oldest university in Ohio and the tenth-oldest public university in the US (32nd overall). On Miami University’s Oxford campus, the Presidential Fellows Program is the institution’s top scholarship opportunity for entering first-year students in all subject areas. Up to fifteen of the most brilliant and deserving students will be joining the school this year as part of the inaugural cohort of Presidential Fellows.

Miami University’s scholarship competition is fierce. The caliber of the applicant pool has an impact on the academic standards used to determine scholarship awards. An academic grant was made available to 79% of first-year foreign students who were admitted for Fall 2021.

Benefits:

  • If you maintain a 3.50 cumulative grade point average each year, the Miami University Presidential Fellows Program Scholarship package will pay your tuition and expenses for eight semesters. All instructional, non-resident surcharges, basic general, Miami Metro, technology, facilities, Armstrong Student Center, matriculation, career development, and course costs are included in the total cost of attendance (tuition and fees).
  • Your Presidential Fellows Program Scholarship package does not include funding for orientation, pre-enrollment, or pre-admission testing fees, health insurance, health center fees, pharmaceutical costs, books, computers, supplies, or other essentials. There will also be outstanding expenses for MUlaa accounts, parking passes, parking penalties, library fines, air conditioner rentals, and cell/phone charges. 
  • This is not a comprehensive list, and Miami University has the right to decide which fees the Presidential Fellows Program Scholarship will cover.

Selection Criteria

Students will be evaluated based on their entire application for admission and their response to the additional essay. Scholarship awardees will be chosen based on their participation in this competition when finalists are invited to campus for the Presidential Fellows Program Scholarship Showcase.

Application Process for Miami University Presidential Fellows Program

Candidates who are qualified and interested in Miami University’s Honors College should use the Common Application to submit their applications by December 1 at 11:59 p.m. In January, the PFP finalists will be informed. You must submit a supplemental essay along with a statement of interest for the Presidential Fellows Program, Miami’s Honors College, or the Prodesse Scholars Program.
