Fully-Funded Schwarzman Scholars Program for International Masters Students in China for 2023/2024

The Schwarzman Scholars Program, which was the first scholarship initiative created in response to the geopolitical climate of the twenty-first century, aims to train the next generation of global leaders. Through a one-year Master’s degree at Tsinghua University in Beijing, one of China’s most prominent universities, the Schwarzman Scholars Program will offer the smartest and brightest students in the world the chance to strengthen their leadership abilities and professional networks.

With a $350 million endowment, Schwarzman Scholars will be the most significant charitable project ever funded in China by largely international donors. Outstanding students who have received a substantial scholarship are called Schwarzman Scholars. The Schwarzman Scholarship, which was founded to address the issues of the twenty-first century and beyond, was inspired by the Rhodes Scholarship, which was established in 1902 to promote intercultural understanding and peace. Blackstone co-founder Stephen A. Schwarzman donated $100 million personally to the program and is currently leading an initiative to gather $350 million more from private sources to endow it permanently.

The $450 million endowment for a one-year Master’s degree program at Tsinghua University in Beijing, one of China’s most prestigious institutions and a key hub for the country’s scientific and technological research, will support up to 200 scholars annually from the United States, China, and other nations. For a year of study and cultural immersion, scholars accepted into this extremely selected program will reside in Beijing, where they will attend lectures, travel, and get a deeper understanding of China.
